How to Calculate Engagement Rate

While a high follower count is great for social proof, brands and sponsors are looking at **Engagement Rate**. This metric proves that your audience is actually paying attention to your content instead of just scrolling past.

1. Engagement by Followers (The Standard)

This is the traditional metric used by most marketers. It measures how effectively you mobilize your total audience.

(Likes + Comments + Shares + Saves) ÷ Total Followers × 100

2. Engagement by Reach / Impressions (The True Rate)

Because algorithms (like TikTok's For You Page or Instagram Reels) show your content to non-followers, your reach is often much higher than your follower count. Measuring engagement against *total views* gives you a more accurate picture of content quality.
